XML Reports

Every result set in Disk Recon can be exported to an XML file. XML is a structured, machine-readable format ideal for further processing by scripts, XSLT stylesheets, or import into other applications.

Press the Export to XML button in the toolbar.

Displaying the Report

Disk Recon includes a default XSLT stylesheet that transforms the XML into an HTML table — identical in appearance to the built-in HTML report. Open the XML file in a browser that supports XSLT (Internet Explorer, or Edge in compatibility mode) to see the formatted output automatically.

You can also write your own stylesheet to reformat or filter the data for a specific purpose.

When to Use XML

• Importing Disk Recon results into another application or database that consumes XML.
• Processing the output with XSLT, PowerShell, or a custom parser.
• Archiving structured scan results in a self-describing, human-readable format.

Other Export Formats

Disk Recon also supports Excel, HTML, CSV, and plain text export.
