Disk Recon 14.1
Status Bar
The Status Bar provides real-time telemetry during a scan and a comprehensive summary once an operation concludes. It is located at the very bottom of the main interface.
Understanding the Segments
The status bar is divided into several information panes that update dynamically:
Elapsed Time
How long the current scan has been running. This resets automatically at the start of every new query.
Cluster Size
The physical allocation unit of the disk. Disk Recon uses this to calculate Slack Space (wasted disk space).
Files Processed
The total count of files indexed. This indicates the overall scan depth and current engine speed.
Files Matched
The number of items that meet your specific filter criteria (size, date, or name patterns).
Contextual Indicators
Depending on your active Query Mode, you may see specialized counters:
- Duplicate Files: Displays the total number of duplicate sets found.
- File Types: Shows the count of unique file extensions identified during the scan.
- Abort Notice: If a scan is stopped manually, a red "Operation Aborted" message appears to signal that results are partial.
Pro Tip: If Files Processed is climbing but Files Matched stays at zero, your filters in the Control Panel may be too restrictive. Check your file size or date range settings.
