Move Files to a Destination Folder

The Move button lets you move a batch of files found in a File Search to any folder on your system. Unlike Copy, Move removes the files from their original location after they have been transferred to the destination.

How to Move Files

1. Run a File Search to locate the files you want to move.
2. Place a checkmark in front of each file you want to include. Use the Mark All toolbar button to check all files at once.
3. Press the Move button in the action panel.
4. A folder browser dialog opens. Navigate to — or type in — the destination folder and confirm.
5. Disk Recon moves the files and shows a status message reporting how many files were processed and whether any errors occurred.

Caution: Move permanently removes files from their source folder. Make sure you have selected the correct destination before confirming. If you want to keep the originals in place, use Copy Files instead.
