Disk Recon 14.1
Archive Files into a ZIP
The Archive button creates a compressed ZIP file containing all the files you have marked in the File Search result grid. This is a quick way to package files for backup or transfer directly from your search results — without needing to open a separate archiving tool.

How to Create a ZIP Archive
- Run a File Search to locate the files you want to archive.
- Place a checkmark in front of each file you want to include. Use the Mark All toolbar button to check all files at once.
- Press the Archive button in the action panel.
- A save dialog opens. Choose a destination folder and enter a filename for the ZIP (e.g.
backup_2026.zip). - Disk Recon compresses the marked files and shows a status message when the archive is complete.
What Gets Archived
- Files are stored in ZIP format, which is compatible with Windows Explorer and all major archive tools.
- The original files are not deleted — archiving is a copy operation. To remove originals after archiving, delete them manually or use Move Files first.
- Files from different source folders are all placed at the root level of the ZIP (folder structure is not preserved).
