Text Reports

Every result set in Disk Recon can be exported to a plain-text file. The output uses fixed-width columns so the data lines up neatly when viewed in a monospaced font — the same layout you see in the result grid.

Press the Export to Text button in the toolbar.

When to Use Text Reports

• Pasting into an email or a ticket where formatting must be simple.
• Viewing or editing in Notepad, Notepad++, or any plain text editor.
• Attaching to documentation where a lightweight format is preferred over HTML or Excel.
• Piping into command-line tools or scripts that expect fixed-width input.

Format Notes

Each column keeps the same width as it had in the result grid at the time of export. To control column widths in the output:

• Resize a column — drag the divider between two column headers left or right.
• Auto-fit a column — double-click the divider to the right of a column header to snap it to the widest value in that column.

Adjust the columns to your liking, then export. The text file will reflect the widths exactly as shown in the grid.
