Export Options & Recommended Uses

Banners can be exported to common formats and embedded anywhere. Choose the format that fits your channel and background needs:

  • PNG (24-bit + alpha): ideal for transparent banners over photos or gradients.
  • GIF: compact for flat colors and simple effects; supports 1-bit transparency.
  • JPG/JPEG: smallest size for photo backgrounds; avoid on sharp text over flat colors.
  • ICO/Bitmap (where applicable): quick UI experiments or internal tools.

Best-Practice Tips for Sharp, Lightweight Banners

  • Start with 2Ă— size and downscale for extra crisp edges on high-DPI screens.
  • Prefer PNG for transparency; use GIF only when palette is very limited.
  • Keep contrast high (dark text on light backgrounds or vice versa) for readability.
  • Limit effect stacking (e.g., outline + shadow) to prevent halo artifacts.
  • Optimize file size: trim empty margins; choose the smallest format that still looks clean.

Workflow: Create a Banner in Under a Minute

  1. Open X-Fonter and launch the Graphics module.
  2. Pick a font and set base size; adjust tracking/kerning if needed.
  3. Select a fill style (solid or gradient) and optional outline.
  4. Add a subtle shadow or glow for separation on busy backgrounds.
  5. Choose canvas/background (solid, transparent) and export to PNG or GIF.

Use Cases

  • Website UI: headings, callouts, downloads, and product badges.
  • Email banners: release notes, promotions, and update highlights.
  • Documentation: labeled screenshots and section headers.
  • Social images: quick text overlays with brand fonts.
