What Affects the Font Count
  • Language packs — installing a language pack adds script-specific fonts for that language.
  • Microsoft Office — Office installs many additional families (Aptos, extra Calibri variants, etc.) that are not part of Windows itself.
  • OEM manufacturers — some PC manufacturers add or remove fonts from the base Windows image before shipping a device.
  • Windows Update — Microsoft occasionally adds new font families through updates over time.
  • Optional Features — developer features available via Settings › Apps › Optional Features (such as Raster Fonts) can add further families.
