Magnifixer 15.0
System Tray Application
Magnifixer runs as a system tray utility, meaning it stays running in the background even when its window is closed. The tray icon gives you quick access to the application at any time without it cluttering your taskbar.
Showing and Hiding the Window
Click the tray icon to show or hide the Magnifixer window at any time. You can also use the system-wide keyboard shortcut Ctrl-Alt-G to toggle the window from anywhere on your desktop. Closing the window does not exit the application — Magnifixer remains active in the system tray, ready to use whenever you need it.
Tray Icon Menu
Right-clicking the tray icon opens a popup menu with the following options:
- Show / Hide — toggles the Magnifixer window
- Start with Windows — enables or disables automatic startup
- Exit — closes Magnifixer completely
The full configuration menu — including zoom level, tracking modes, visual aids, and all other settings — is available by right-clicking directly on the magnifier window. See the Configuration Guide for a complete reference.
Stay in System Tray
The Stay in System Tray option (available in the main configuration menu) controls whether Magnifixer remains active in the tray when the window is closed. When this option is enabled, closing the window keeps Magnifixer running silently in the background. When disabled, closing the window will exit the application entirely.
Starting Automatically with Windows
Magnifixer can be configured to start automatically when Windows starts. When enabled, it will launch silently into the system tray without showing the window, so it is ready to use as soon as you log in. This option can be toggled from the right-click menu on the tray icon, or from the main Configuration menu.
Low-Resource Mode
When the magnifier window is hidden, Magnifixer automatically enters a low-resource mode. In this state, the screen capture and rendering engine is paused, allowing the application to remain available without consuming significant CPU or memory.
Exiting Magnifixer
To exit the application completely, right-click the tray icon and select Exit. Simply closing the window will not exit the application — it will continue running in the system tray until you explicitly choose Exit.
