Configuration
All customization in Magnifixer is managed through the popup menu (shown below), accessible by right-clicking on the Magnifixer window or the system tray icon.
Visual & Performance Settings
These settings control how the magnification is rendered and how the application utilizes system resources.
Magnification & Clarity
- Zoom Level: Choose a magnification factor between 2x and 40x.
- Update Frequency: Adjust how often the display refreshes to balance smoothness with CPU usage.
- Smoothen Display: Applies an anti-aliasing filter to make enlarged pixels appear smoother and more readable.
- Invert Image: Reverses screen colors for high-contrast viewing (Ctrl-Alt-I).
- Flip Screen: Mirror the display Horizontally (Ctrl-Alt-H) or Vertically (Ctrl-Alt-J).
Precision & Guides
Enable visual aids to assist with pixel-level alignment and color identification.
Indicators & Overlays
- Show Cursor: Toggles the visibility of the mouse pointer within the magnified area.
- Draw Crosshair: Places a stationary target at the center of the magnifier window.
- Draw Grid: Overlays a grid with selectable frame sizes of 1, 5, 10, 20, or 50 pixels.
- Color Display: Toggle the Info Panel to show colors in RGB or HTML Hex formats.
Window & Tracking Behavior
Configure how the magnifier window interacts with your workspace and cursor.
Positioning & Visibility
- Show/Hide Title Bar: Removes the window caption for a streamlined look.
- Show Panel: Toggles the visibility of the optional bottom information panel.
- Stay On Top: Keeps the magnifier visible above all other windows (Ctrl-Alt-Space).
- Make Window Transparent: Makes the magnifier window semi-transparent (Ctrl-Alt-T).
- Change Position when Hovered Over: Moves the window automatically if the cursor enters its area to prevent blocking your view (Ctrl-Alt-P).
Tracking Modes
- Follow Caret Position: Automatically focuses the magnifier on the text insertion point (caret).
- Fixed Location: Locks the view on a specific screen coordinate (Ctrl-Alt-F).
- Set Virtual Origin: Define a custom (0,0) coordinate for relative position tracking (Ctrl-Alt-O).
Operational Controls
These options manage the active state and immediate magnification output.
- Enabled: Toggles the magnification engine on or off (Ctrl+Alt+E).
- Show/Hide Magnifixer Window: Instantly toggle the visibility of the main magnification area (Ctrl+Alt+G).
- Copy Image to Clipboard: Captures the current magnified view as an image for use in other applications (Ctrl+Alt+C).
- Stay in System Tray: When enabled, Magnifixer remains active in the tray area even if the main window is closed.
- Run on Startup: Configures the application to launch automatically whenever Windows starts.
