FlashTray Pro 5.0
Working with FlashTray Pro
There are just a few things to keep in mind when working with this program:
- If you have the 'triggers' turned on, your computer needs to check several times per second whether the last characters you typed are equal to one of your triggers. Modern computers will hardly notice this, but on older systems this might cause too much overhead. If this is the case, simply turn off the triggers in the options screen.
- FlashTray Pro allows you to define shortcuts for almost any key combination. Make sure that you don't define hotkeys for key combinations that are commonly used by other programs. This could disturb the normal workings of your computer. Defining hotkeys gives you a tremendous amount of power over your keyboard and computer, but it should be used with care.
- The same goes for triggers: Don't use commonly used words as triggers. In general it is preferred to start your trigger words with a special character (e.g. backslash '\').
- Hotkeys and triggers are automatically disabled when the configuration screen is called.
- Hotkeys and triggers are automatically disabled when FlashTray is already running a macro. This means that the text in one macro cannot be used as a trigger or hotkey for another macro. This eliminates the risk of endless loops.
- FlashTray Pro uses relatively little resources. Using no icons in the launcher reduces this amount even more, but for modern systems this difference is negligible.
